Who Should Use Sellsy?
Sellsy targets French service businesses, agencies, consultancies, and freelancers who need a full business management platform — not just invoicing. The CRM + invoicing integration is Sellsy's core value proposition.
It's the right tool if you:
- Want to manage leads, quotes, and invoices without switching between platforms
- Invoice primarily French B2B customers and need Factur-X
- Invoice French public bodies via Chorus Pro
- Want a modern, well-designed French interface
It's not ideal if you:
- Need complex multi-currency invoicing or cross-border European operations
- Are a larger business needing a full ERP (consider Cegid or SAP)
- Need native Peppol connectivity today (not yet available)
Factur-X Generation: Testing
We set up a Sellsy trial and generated invoices in Factur-X format.
Setup
Sellsy enables Factur-X in: Réglages → Facturation → Format électronique → Factur-X EN 16931
KoSIT / Ecosio Validation
We validated the generated Factur-X PDF using the ecosio validator.
Result: ✅ Passed — no schema errors. Profile confirmed as EN 16931 (Confort).
Key validation points:
<ram:ID>guideline:urn:cen.eu:en16931:2017#conformant#urn:factur-x.eu:1p0:en16931✅- Seller TVA number (SIRET/TVA intra) correctly included ✅
- Payment terms with IBAN in ISO 13616 format ✅
- Tax category codes: correct S (standard) and E (exempt) where applicable ✅
Profile Notes
Sellsy generates the EN 16931 (Confort) profile — the minimum required for the French mandate. The Extended profile is not currently available. For most B2B use cases, EN 16931 is sufficient.
Chorus Pro Integration
For businesses that invoice French public administrations (B2G), Chorus Pro integration is essential. Sellsy's Chorus Pro integration works natively:
- Identify an invoice as B2G in Sellsy (toggle "Destinataire public")
- Enter the recipient's SIRET and service code (code service)
- Submit directly to Chorus Pro via the Sellsy interface
- Receive delivery and payment status notifications in Sellsy
We tested with a public administration in the Chorus Pro sandbox environment. The submission worked correctly, and status notifications arrived within 5 minutes.
Important limitation: The Chorus Pro integration handles UBL 2.1 format, not Factur-X directly. This is correct — Chorus Pro accepts both formats, and Sellsy correctly uses UBL 2.1 for B2G, which is Chorus Pro's preferred format.
PDP Connectivity: Current Status
Sellsy does not yet have a certified PDP (Partenaire de Dématérialisation Privé). As of our review date (May 2026):
- Sellsy has announced PDP certification is in progress with DGFiP
- Expected certification: Q3 2026 (before the September Phase 1 deadline)
- For the September 2026 mandatory transition, Sellsy recommends using the PPF (Portail Public de Facturation) as a bridge
Our assessment: For grandes entreprises with Phase 1 obligations (September 2026), Sellsy is not fully ready today. For ETI and SME businesses with September 2027 and 2028 deadlines, Sellsy's timeline is fine.
CRM Integration
Sellsy's core advantage is the CRM-to-invoice workflow:
- Add a lead in the CRM pipeline
- Convert to a quote (devis) with a single click
- Convert to an invoice (facture) when the quote is accepted
- Send the invoice — Factur-X or standard PDF depending on customer type
This workflow significantly reduces manual re-entry and errors for businesses managing many customer relationships. For a service business doing 30–100 invoices per month with ongoing client relationships, this is meaningfully faster than using separate CRM and invoicing tools.
Cash Flow Forecasting
A standout Sellsy feature for smaller businesses: built-in cash flow forecasting. Based on outstanding invoices, payment terms, and recurring subscriptions, Sellsy shows a 30/60/90-day cash flow projection. This is genuinely useful for service businesses managing client payment timelines.

Verdict
Sellsy is a well-built platform for French service businesses that want CRM and invoicing in one place. The Factur-X EN 16931 output is correct, the Chorus Pro integration works well, and the overall UX is among the best we tested in the French market.
The PDP certification timeline is the main concern for larger businesses with September 2026 obligations. For smaller businesses and freelancers preparing for their 2027 or 2028 mandate deadline, Sellsy is a strong option.
Rating: 4.2 / 5 — Recommended for French service businesses and agencies, with a caveat on PDP timing.
