weclapp Cloud ERP Adds Native ZUGFeRD 2.3 and XRechnung 3.0 in May 2026 Update

German cloud ERP provider weclapp has shipped a major e-invoicing update adding native ZUGFeRD 2.3 (EN 16931 profile) and XRechnung 3.0 generation, plus Peppol BIS 3.0 access point connectivity — putting it ahead of the 2027 German sending mandate.

weclapp GmbH — one of Germany's fastest-growing cloud ERP vendors with over 25,000 business customers — shipped a major e-invoicing update in the May 2026 release (version 26.5), adding several critical capabilities ahead of Germany's 2027 and 2028 sending mandate deadlines.

What's New in weclapp 26.5

Native ZUGFeRD 2.3 Generation (EN 16931 Profile)

weclapp now generates ZUGFeRD 2.3 invoices natively in the EN 16931 profile — the profile required for the German B2B mandate. The previous release supported ZUGFeRD 2.1, which was not compliant with the updated KoSIT validator requirements.

Customers generating ZUGFeRD invoices should update to version 26.5 and re-validate their invoice templates using the KoSIT validator.

XRechnung 3.0 Support

The XRechnung format has been updated to version 3.0, incorporating the KoSIT specification changes from Q4 2025:

  • Updated payment means codes
  • Mandatory buyer reference (BT-10) for B2B invoices
  • Stricter Leitweg-ID validation for B2G

Peppol BIS 3.0 Access Point Integration

weclapp has partnered with a certified Peppol access point provider to offer integrated Peppol sending directly from the weclapp interface. This is particularly relevant for customers who:

  • Invoice German public authorities (B2G via XRechnung/Peppol)
  • Have Belgian customers requiring Peppol BIS 3.0 delivery
  • Are preparing for France's September 2026 mandate (Factur-X via PDP)

Automated KoSIT Validation Before Send

A new pre-send validation step runs invoices through the KoSIT validation API before transmission. Invalid invoices are flagged with a detailed error report rather than sent to customers.

Why This Matters for German SMEs

weclapp is particularly popular with German e-commerce and distribution companies — a segment that frequently invoices both private consumers and B2B customers with complex VAT situations. The update makes weclapp one of the more comprehensive SME options for the 2027 sending mandate.

For businesses currently using weclapp who are in the >€800,000 revenue bracket subject to the 2027 mandate: the capability is now there. Activate it in Settings → E-Invoicing → Document Formats.
