Sage Symfonia KSeF Review: Is It Ready for Poland's E-Invoicing Mandate?
Honest review of Sage Symfonia's KSeF compliance features for 2026. FA(2) support, offline mode, pricing, and how it compares to Comarch ERP Optima and InsERT nexo.
Sage Symfonia KSeF Review 2026: Is It Ready for Poland's E-Invoicing Mandate?
Sage Symfonia is one of Poland's most established accounting software brands — used by tens of thousands of SMEs and accounting offices for over two decades. With KSeF now mandatory, the key question is whether Symfonia's KSeF implementation is genuinely production-ready or just enough to pass a compliance checkbox.
This review covers the KSeF features in Symfonia Finanse i Księgowość (FiK) and Symfonia ERP, based on publicly documented feature sets as of May 2026.

Background: What Is Sage Symfonia?
Symfonia was originally a Polish software company acquired by Sage Group in 2003. The product line covers accounting (Finanse i Księgowość), invoicing, HR/payroll, and a mid-market ERP. It is widely used by Polish accountants and SMEs, and enjoys strong brand recognition among businesses that have been using Polish accounting software since the 2000s.
For KSeF, Symfonia added integration during the 2022–2024 voluntary phase, and the production-ready KSeF module was rolled out across the product line ahead of the February 2026 mandatory deadline.
KSeF Feature Breakdown
FA(2) Schema Generation
Symfonia generates FA_VAT FA(2) XML natively in both the FiK and ERP products. You do not need a third-party plugin or add-on to produce compliant invoice XML. The generation is built into the standard invoice workflow — you issue an invoice as normal, and the FA(2) file is created automatically.
Verdict: ✅ Solid. Native FA(2) generation with no additional components required.
KSeF API Submission
Invoices are submitted to the KSeF API in real time at the point of issuance. The KSeF reference number (Numer Referencyjny) is retrieved and stored against the invoice record. You can view KSeF submission status from the invoice list without navigating to a separate module.
One area to note: the status polling interval is configurable but defaults to 60 seconds, which is longer than some competitors (Comarch defaults to near-instant polling). For high-volume senders processing hundreds of invoices per hour, this could mean a delay before reference numbers are available. For typical SME volumes, it is not a practical issue.
Verdict: ✅ Functional and reliable for SME volumes. High-volume senders should test the polling configuration.
KSeF Offline Mode
Symfonia supports offline mode as required by the KSeF regulations. When the KSeF API is unavailable, the system issues the invoice with an offline identifier (as per Ministry of Finance offline mode specification) and queues it for automatic resubmission.
Caveat: Based on available documentation, the offline re-submission requires the user to manually trigger the queue flush after KSeF recovers, rather than happening fully automatically. This is less seamless than InsERT nexo (which handles automatic recovery without user action) but compliant with the regulation.
Verdict: ⚠️ Compliant but requires manual step to resume after KSeF outages. Verify current behavior with your Symfonia partner before going live.
Corrective Invoices
Corrective invoices (faktury korygujące) correctly reference the original KSeF Numer Referencyjny as required. The correction workflow is accessible from the original invoice record with one click.
Verdict: ✅ Correct implementation.
JPK_VAT Reconciliation
Symfonia handles JPK_VAT reporting and the system maintains consistency between KSeF-submitted invoices and JPK_VAT data. This is important because the tax authority cross-references KSeF submission data against JPK_VAT declarations — any mismatch triggers a compliance flag.
Verdict: ✅ JPK_VAT and KSeF data are kept in sync within the platform.
Pricing
Sage Symfonia does not publish granular pricing publicly. Based on available information as of May 2026:
| Product | Approx. Starting Price | KSeF Module |
|---|---|---|
| Symfonia FiK (cloud) | ~PLN 120–180/month | Included |
| Symfonia ERP | On request (partner-quoted) | Included |
| Accounting Office edition | Per-client pricing | Included |
KSeF integration is included in current subscriptions — existing users do not pay an additional module fee. Contact a certified Sage Partner for current pricing specific to your configuration.
Pros and Cons
What Works Well
- Established ecosystem: Symfonia has a large network of certified implementation partners and accounting offices in Poland. Support and training resources are widely available.
- Smooth migration path for existing users: If you already use Symfonia for accounting, the KSeF upgrade requires no platform change — you update and activate the KSeF module.
- JPK_VAT integration: The tight coupling between invoicing, KSeF, and JPK_VAT reporting reduces the risk of compliance mismatches.
- Accounting office functionality: The accounting office (biuro rachunkowe) edition is well-suited for accountants managing KSeF compliance for multiple clients under a single interface.
Where It Falls Short
- No Peppol support: If you need Peppol for public procurement (PEF) or cross-border B2G invoicing, Symfonia is not the answer. Only enova365 covers both KSeF and Peppol among Polish-market tools.
- Offline mode requires manual re-trigger: Not fully automatic after KSeF outages, unlike InsERT nexo.
- ERP pricing opacity: Symfonia ERP pricing requires a partner quote, making it harder to compare costs quickly.
- Interface age: Like most Polish accounting platforms, the Symfonia interface has accumulated years of complexity. It is functional but not as clean as InsERT nexo.
- Cloud maturity: The cloud edition of Symfonia FiK is newer and some advanced features available in the on-premise version are still catching up.

Who Should Use Sage Symfonia for KSeF?
Symfonia is the right choice if:
- You are already using Symfonia FiK or ERP and want the smoothest possible upgrade path to KSeF compliance.
- You run an accounting office (biuro rachunkowe) managing multiple clients — the multi-client edition is well-suited for this.
- You value the Sage partner network and want local implementation support across Poland.
Consider alternatives if:
- You are starting fresh and want the cleanest UX → InsERT nexo
- You need both KSeF and Peppol for public procurement → enova365
- You need the most comprehensive KSeF feature set in a Polish ERP → Comarch ERP Optima
- You are running a large enterprise on SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics → use the Poland localisation module for those platforms
Verdict: 3.9 / 5.0
Sage Symfonia delivers solid, compliant KSeF functionality. For existing Symfonia users, it is the obvious upgrade path — no platform migration required, familiar interface, and the partner network ensures you can get implementation support anywhere in Poland.
It is not the top performer on any individual metric (Comarch has deeper KSeF features, InsERT nexo has better UX and auto offline recovery, enova365 adds Peppol), but it is a safe, dependable choice — particularly for accounting offices and businesses with complex Polish accounting requirements already running on the Symfonia ecosystem.
If you are evaluating new software from scratch, benchmark it against InsERT nexo (for simplicity) and Comarch ERP Optima (for depth) before deciding.
